Standard Chartered Bank launches Cohort 5 of the Futuremakers Women In Tech Incubator

$10,000 Grants + Incubation for Women-Led Tech Startups Driving Sustainable Impact

Ghana’s women entrepreneurs are pivotal to economic growth—leading 44% of micro-enterprisesand 34% of formal SMEs – yet face systemic barriers like limited funding (65%) and digital skills gaps (40%).

To help bridge these gaps, Standard Chartered Ghana, in partnership with Village Capital and implemented by Ashesi University’s Ghana Climate Innovation Centre (GCIC), launched the Futuremakers Women in Tech Incubator (FWIT). Now in its 5th year, the program targets women-owned/led tech-enabled businesses solving Ghana’s pressing challenges in agriculture, health, education, and sustainability.

This year’s launch underscores Standard Chartered’s dedication to empowering women entrepreneurs and fostering inclusive economic growth.

Programme Objectives:

  • Break Barriers: Provide access to funding, training, and networks.
  • Drive Inclusion: Prioritize women with disabilities and underserved communities.
  • Scale Impact: Support ventures that blend innovation with social good.

  • Mentorship from seasoned industry experts
  • A final pitch and demo day, where the top five businesses will each receive $10,000 in equity-free grants (GHS equivalent)
